Guatemala has a great reputation for coffee and has been growing the delicious bean since the 1850s. It is quoted as being one of the top producers of coffee in Central America.
Coffees from Guatemala are simply beautiful due to there delicate taste and are definitely one of our favorites here at Bean Around.
Our Guatemalan coffee beans are from several amazing farms from in and around the luscious volcanic valleys surrounding Antigua. These coffee farms are surrounded by three volcanoes. Acatenango, Agua and Fuego.
Acatenango has two peaks, Pico Mayor (Highest Peak) and Yepocapa (3,880 m) which is also known as Tres Hermanas (Three Sisters). Acatenango is joined with Volcán de Fuego and collectively the volcano complex is known as La Horqueta.
The farms in which this particular Guatemalan coffee are grown have rich volcanic soil and sit at an altitude of around 1650 metres which makes it perfect for growing this full bodied coffee wonder.
This coffee has a huge full bodied flavour with notes of a sweet chocolate all finished of with hints of blackberries in the aroma.
